Information provided by the Brecksville Police Department

July 17 – A driver was pulled over on Interstate 77 for traveling at a speed of 91mph and was arrested after police determined he had a warrant issued by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office for a probation violation. He was also cited on speeding charges before being turned over to the custody of sheriff’s deputies.

July 21 – A Broadview Heights patrol officer contacted Brecksville police to report he was stopping at an incident in the northbound lanes of Interstate 77 near the Oakes Road overpass where several vehicles were pulled over. Several witnesses informed them that the driver of one of the vehicles was spotted grabbing a female, who was later determined to be his wife, and slamming her to the ground. Several of the witnesses separated the man from his wife prior to police arrival. Due to the wife’s admission that a physical incident had occurred and the fact that her leg and arms were injured, and her clothing was ripped, her husband was arrested on charges of domestic violence and transported to the North Royalton Jail.

July 28 – The passenger in a Ford Fusion that was pulled over for having an expired registration was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued by Macedonia Police. The warrant was for driving with an open container in a motor vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody and was turned over to Macedonia Police. The driver was advised on the expired license plate registration.

July 29 – A Forestdale Avenue man was arrested on charges of domestic violence after he posted bond after being arrested on charges of OVI just a few hours earlier and released to his live-in fiancé. Police said they were contacted by dispatchers who spotted the man knock his fiancé to the ground outside the fire station just minutes after he was released. He was taken into custody and transported to the Strongsville Jail. ∞
