Revere Notes

Revere High School Principal Doug Faris presented three students for recognition by the board of education.

Senior Jake Nations is the goalie on the boys’ soccer team, but Faris was equally impressed by his kindness. The principal read a letter from the mother of fourth-grader Alex Loescher, also a soccer goalkeeper, who happened to meet Nations.

“He gave Alex a lifetime of memories,” Faris said.

Reading from a letter written by Loescher’s mother, Faris said that Nations invited the Bath student to the senior night soccer game, greeted him pregame, took photos with him after the game and gave Loescher his captain’s badge.

“My son has been fortunate enough to meet players from the Cavaliers and Guardians,” Fairis read, “but this was his favorite experience.”

The board also recognized Prabhnoor Singh for earning a distinguished speaker award at the Sikh Youth Alliance Symposium and Bane Thurman, who has had lead roles in three Revere Players productions and will be featured in the group’s next play, Treasure Island, scheduled for Nov. 14-17.

In addition to a win for the football team, homecoming weekend included the crowning of queen Erin Shelby and king Rowan Klein.
