Here comes Santa Clause…
Holiday magic will once again enchant Scout Cabin
The Rotary Club of Hudson continues its long tradition of thrilling children and parents by providing conversations with Santa and Mrs. Claus, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 7. The holiday event, which is typically enjoyed by more than 300 kids, will again be held in the recently restored Scout Cabin in downtown Hudson.
Replete with historical Scouting artifacts, Christmas decorations and a glowing fireplace, the log cabin will provide a cozy atmosphere for a visit with Santa. And while waiting, guests will enjoy hot chocolate provided by Hudson’s Restaurant and candy canes handed out by Rotary elves. Plenty of seating will allow visitors to watch the festivities in comfort. Family portraits are encouraged with photo assistance available from the elves.
In order to avoid long lines, a ticket system has been established to allow Santa to chat with 20 families per hour for a total of 120 visits during the six-hour period. Tickets will be available at 7:45 a.m. on Dec. 7, at the Gazebo on the Green, where visitors will be given a specific time to get in line inside the cabin. This process helps families avoid long lines and better enjoy the festivities.
The Rotary Club of Hudson has sponsored this Santa event since 2001, originally led by the legendary Jimmy Sutphin, beloved former Hudson citizen. Rotary is proud of this tradition and of its campaign that raised over $275,000 for the historic log cabin restoration.
… and here comes Santa Circle
Hudson’s Sampson Circle will transform into Santa Circle this month. Resident Emily Nagle said her daughters, Maebelle, Elia, Sawyer and Finley, caroled around their 11-home cul-de-sac last December, asking each neighbor to purchase an inflatable Santa. The Nagle’s themselves proudly display a 20-foot inflatable Santa for the holidays, and Emily anticipates he will have 10 friends this year.
Santa Circle, located off Jonathan Drive, will officially be unveiled at 2 p.m. Dec. 1, with the help of Hudson Mayor Jeff Anzevino and the real-life Santa. “Hudson is such a magical place at Christmas,” Emily said, “and we are excited that kids and families in the community will be able to drive down the circle and see our all the giant Santas and that will be part of their holiday memories.”
