DiMauro continues as president
Jan. 13 board of education organizational meeting
Steve DiMauro will carry on as Hudson City School District Board of Education president, following a vote held at the board’s organizational meeting. Alisa Wright was re-elected vice president.
Treasurer Phil Butto presented the 2025-2026 alternative tax budget, which the board passed as part of the treasurer’s consent agenda.
According to the documents, property tax collections will contribute $61 million to the district’s general fund during the 2025-2026 budget year, up from $60.4 million in the 2024-2025 alternative tax budget and $50.8 million the year before.
Collections for this upcoming budget year – which runs from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026 – include $6.8 million for inside mills, up from $5.5 million in 2024- 2025 and $5.4 million in 2023-2024. Inside millage is an unvoted property tax levy that increases proportionally with property value. It also includes the new 5.5-mill levy voters passed in 2023, which brings in about $7.3 million annually.
Butto’s board-approved consent agenda also contained renewal of the district’s Ohio School Boards Association membership in the amount of $11,699 and three new donations to the district, including:
$5,500 from Dorothea Snyder Partners in Education Fund for the middle school’s Artificial Intelligence Exploration Day.
$5,000 from Hudson Garden Club for a schoolyard habitat in the outdoor courtyard of East Woods Intermediate School.
$2,500 from Robert Drew for the East Woods Intermediate School walking trail.
