Congratulations to our local students who have had academic success at their colleges and universities.

The following Independence residents have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2024 semester at the University of Mount Union: Nathan Bernstein, Eliza Botzman and Hannah Morrow.

James Mathies, of Independence, was named to The University of Alabama president’s list for fall semester 2024 for having an academic record of 4.0.

The following Independence natives have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2024 semester at Baldwin Wallace University: Abbey Bugaj, Charlie Decapua, Nick Dufalla, Alissa Hasrouni, David Jedrzejek, PJ Oschmann, Zachary Shipley and Alainna Teare.

Khalil McDonald was named to Susquehanna University’s fall 2024 dean’s list. Khalil is majoring in international business and is a member of the class of 2028.

The following students graduated from Baldwin Wallace University in December 2024: Paul Priebe, an Independence High School alumnus, graduated with a Bachelor of Science: Cybersecurity Analyst; and Michael Jedrzejek, an IHS alumnus, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts: Sport Management and Marketing. Miami University students ranked in the top 3% of undergraduate students within each division for the fall 2024 semester have been named to the president’s list, which included Independence residents Camryn Mazzola, Ashleigh Porter and Aiden Orlikowski.
