MGM reveals next president of Hard Rock Rocksino

When MGM Resorts International rebrands the Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park later this year, a new president and chief operating officer will be running the show.

MGM Resorts has appointed Chris Kelley to oversee daily operations at the facility and provide strategic direction and leadership, according to a press release. Kelley will take on his new role when MGM acquires the property, which is expected to occur mid-year. The sale of the Rocksino to MGM for $1.06 billion was announced last April.

“We are thrilled to have the Northfield Park team joining the MGM Resorts family and look forward to Chris’ leadership and strategic vision driving the company’s success as we expand into a new market in Ohio,” said Anton Nikodemus, COO of regional operations of MGM Resorts, in a press release. “The Rocksino already cemented itself as a market leader in gaming and entertainment.”

The Rocksino and Northfield Park harness race track sit on 110 acres in Northfield Village. The gaming facility includes 2,300 video lottery terminals, a 1,900-seat music venue and a 250-seat event space.

Kelley joined MGM Resorts as vice president and CFO of MGM Grand Detroit in 2017. Before that, he worked with Viejas Casino & Resort near San Diego.
