The American Red Cross reports that severe winter weather and wildfires have forced thousands of blood drives to be canceled, leading to emergency shortages – especially of O negative and B negative blood types – and a critical need for platelets.

Bath Volunteers for Service will host its semiannual blood drive Thursday, April 10, from 12:30-5:30 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall at Bath United Church of Christ, 3980 West Bath Rd.

After donating, the women of BVS will treat you to homemade soup, a sandwich and dessert as a thank you.
