Corny 5K and Family Trail Run

The Richfield Civic Organization is holding its inaugural Corny 5K & Family Trail Run on Saturday, Aug. 10, at the 336-acre Richfield Heritage Preserve.

There will be a 5K and a 1-mile trail route. Both will be chip timed, with awards for top finishers. Register the whole family for an adventurous morning in nature. Enjoy corny jokes – submitted by elementary school students – along the trail.

Non-runners are invited to take a leisurely hike along the trails, which are not stroller friendly.

The cost to participate is $30 for the 5K race and $15 for the 1-mile race and for non-runners. Registration is online at runsignup.com/Race/OH/Richfield/Corny5k. Registration will be open until 8 a.m. on Aug. 10. There will be a price increase for same-day registrations.

All participants will receive a race T-shirt with artwork designed by a local elementary school student, and a bag of popcorn. 5K participants will receive two ears of fresh corn from Luther Farms. Bring the whole family for a morning of wholesome fun with complimentary snacks, yard games and music.

Attendees should use the 4225 Oviatt Rd. park entrance, off Rt. 303. Check-in begins at 7 a.m. and both races will kick off at 8 a.m. sharp. Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck will be at the site at 7 a.m.
