Ghost Ships of Lake Erie

Apr16

Charles Cassady will talk at the Richfield Library on April 16 about Great Lakes shipwrecks, maritime haunts and superstitions

6:00pm

Longtime local reporter and author Charles Cassady will talk at the Richfield Library on April 16 at 6 p.m. about Great Lakes shipwrecks, maritime haunts and superstitions.

The inland seas of the Midwest are awash with some very strange tales and legends: ships vanishing without a trace; phantom boats; undead lighthouse-keepers and supernatural black dogs of bad luck.

Cassady will mark the anniversary of the April 15, 1912 sinking of the Titanic, with a talk on Great Lakes shipwrecks, nautical haunts and superstitions, and other maritime matters.

Copies of Cassady’s books will be available for purchase and signing. Register at the library, by phone at 330-659-4343, or online at akronlibrary.org/locations/richfield.
