Aug. 8

Hudson LWV social gathering

All community members are invited to attend the League of Women Voters of Hudson’s annual social gathering on Aug. 8, at 6:30 p.m., at the home of the league’s President Tracey Mackay. Come learn more about the mission, goals and projects of the LWV of Hudson, a grass-roots organization that believes voting is the core of our democracy. The LWV strives to protect voters’ rights and encourage active participation in our government through education and advocacy.

Over the next few months, as election season gains momentum and the confusion of negative campaign ads begins to take over social media, it becomes increasingly challenging to know ways in which we can have our voices heard and how we can make a difference. Aug. 8 is an opportunity to meet a group of engaged, proactive citizens who are working together to do just that. Join Hudson LWV for some information gathering, good conversation and food and beverages, and bring a friend.

For additional information or to RSVP to attend, please email Tracey Mackay at presidentlwvhudson@gmail.com.

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influence public policy through education and advocacy. For more information, see lwvhudson.org. ∞
